Decreased Sex Drive Study for Naturally Menopausal Women
 
Physicians from the IHA Obstetrics and Gynecology practices are currently conducting a research study for women experiencing decreased sex drive. This study evaluates an investigational medication in the treatment of this disorder. We are excited about this opportunity and invite your participation.
 
You MAY be eligible to participate if:
 
·         You suffer from low sex drive (Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, HSDD)
AND
·         You have gone through menopause
 
You will receive research-related medical attention, investigational medication, and testing at no cost to you. In addition, you will be compensated for participating in the study.

Uterine Fibroids Study for Pre-Menopausal Women
 
Physicians from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Division of IHA and its research division, Clinsite, are currently conducting a research study for women experiencing symptoms associated with uterine fibroids.  The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a once daily investigational capsule for the treatment of uterine fibroids.  You have been identified by our practice’s demographic data as someone whose age and gender might qualify them for this study.  We do not know if your medical history would allow you to participate.  We are excited about this opportunity and invite your participation.
 
You MAY be eligible to participate if:
 
·         You are at least 18 years old and premenopausal
·         Have at least one uterine fibroid
·         Your periods are approximately 20-40 days apart
·         You are generally healthy or have controlled medical conditions
 
You may NOT be eligible to participate if:
·         You have had a hysterectomy or both ovaries removed
·         You are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
 
This study lasts up to 20 months and includes up to 15 office visits. You will receive research-related medical attention, investigational medication, and testing at no cost to you. In addition, you will be compensated up to $800 for participating in the study. Through participation in research you may learn more about your own health and contribute to medical research in finding new treatments for uterine fibroids in the future.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) Study
 
Physicians from the IHA Internal Medicine Division and its research office, ClinSite, are currently conducting a research study for people with high blood pressure. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication for hypertension. We are excited about this opportunity and invite your participation.
 
You MAY be eligible to participate if you can answer YES to the following questions:
 
  • Are you generally healthy with a diagnosis of high blood pressure?
  • Are you 18 years of age or older?
 
You MAY NOT be eligible if you:
 
  • Have had a heart attack or stroke in the last 6 months
  • Have had cancer in the past 5 years (except basal cell)
  • Have Type I – insulin dependent diabetes, or poorly controlled Type II diabetes
 
This study lasts approximately 13 weeks and includes approximately 12 visits. You will receive thorough research-related medical attention and testing at no cost. During the study, you will be provided with study medication. In addition, you will be compensated for time and travel. Through participation in research you may learn more about your own health and contribute to medical research for hypertension.

Menopausal Symptoms Study
 
We are conducting a clinical research study to test the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug in preventing post-menopausal osteoporosis and treating menopausal symptoms while ensuring endometrial (uterine lining) safety. 
 
You may be eligible to participate if you:
 
·         Are currently 40 to 64 years old
·         Are menopausal and experiencing menopausal symptoms
·         Have not had a hysterectomy
·         Have not used oral hormonal treatments such as estrogen, progestin, androgen-, or SERM-containing products within the last 2 months. 
 
Study participation lasts for approximately 14 ½ months. Participants can expect up to 8 visits to the study doctor. Qualified participants may receive study-related office visits, medical evaluations, gynecological exams, bone density scans if eligible and the study drug at no cost.

Research Study for Type II Diabetes
 
Physicians from IHA Associates in Internal Medicine - Cherry Hill and its research division, Clinsite, are currently conducting a research study for people with Type II Diabetes.  The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a once daily investigational drug for type II Diabetes compared to an approved medication, in combination with Metformin.  We are excited about this opportunity and invite your participation.
 
You MAY be eligible to participate if you:
 
  • Are generally healthy with a diagnosis of Type II Diabetes
  • Are between 18 and 80 years of age
  • Are currently taking Metformin
 
You MAY NOT be eligible if you:
 
  • Have had a heart attack or stroke in the last 3 months
  • Have had cancer in the past 5 years (except basal or squamous cell of the skin)
  • Are currently taking medicine other than Metformin for your Diabetes
 
This study lasts approximately 2 years and includes 21-23 visits. You will receive thorough research-related medical attention and testing at no cost. During the study, you will be provided with the generic equivalent of Metformin as well as the study medication. In addition, you may be compensated for your time and travel. Through participation in research you may learn more about your own health and contribute to medical research in finding new treatments for diabetes.
